Special Instructions for Fundraisers

70% of supporters make their donations online. For anyone wishing to write a check or give cash, you will need to record the transaction on a donation form. AnimalKind will replace any cash donations with a check. Please call or email 919-870-1660 ext. 102 or volunteer@animalkind.org if you need a donation form. Write your name and “AnimalKind” clearly on the top of the form. Please turn in your donation form and money to AnimalKind prior to Race Day.

All checks should be made out to:  Volunteer Center of Durham/Great Human Race, Write the name of the nonprofit you are collecting donations for on the memo line.

Organize your efforts! Create your Individual Online Fundraising page.  Send it out to everyone you know! Carry your donation form with you at all times. Try to collect your donations at the time you ask for support. Come up with an easy way to ASK EVERYONE! The more you ask, the more you’ll get. Don’t be afraid that someone will say no. If they do, just say thank you for your time and encourage them to come out and walk or run on Race Day.

If all donations were made to your online page, then you are done! If some donations were made directly, then fill out your collection envelope or donation form completely. Write the donor’s name, address and phone number on the pledge sheet.

  • Set a goal for how much money you want to raise.
