AnimalKind's mission is to end the unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable cats and dogs in North Carolina shelters.
Recently a friend of mine posted on Facebook that her elderly basset hound was nearing the end of her life due to a heart condition. I tried to decide how best to express my sympathy and do something positive in honor of her, and her pet. What if there was a good way to support a worthy pet charity, and let a friend, or a loved one, know you are thinking of them? AnimalKind has come up with a way you can do both. Shawn Hart of Earth Muffin Studio has created a gorgeous line of pet oil paintings and has provided AnimalKind with a variety of prints to use on pet memorial cards. You can either order one of the pre-printed cards and personalize it yourself, or select one of the “in memory/honor of” cards, tell AnimalKind what you want for your personal message, and they will mail it to the recipient for you.
These cards aren’t only for the sad times though. The blank, pre-printed cards work well for any occasion for the animal lover in your life and for $2.50 each they are cheaper than the average Hallmark card (and 100% of the proceeds support AnimalKind!).
So in good times or bad, it is always nice to have a way to let someone know that they are in your thoughts—here is a great way to show it and do a good deed as well!
